In one of the most high profile relocations in EC3 in the
first quarter of 2010, German insurance giant, Allianz (the world's
second largest insurance company) advised by Newton Perkins, has leased 120,000
sq ft at 60 Gracechurch Street, EC3 from Commerzbank.
In other relocations, we acted for
Renaissance Re in their acquisition of 22,000 sq ft at 125 Old Broad
Street, EC2 and also Antares Underwriting who took 14,000 sq ft in the
new develpment at 10 Lime Street. Insurer Cooper Gay with advice from
Newton Perkins has renewed the leases and expanded in their 30,000 sq ft
headquarter office in 52 Leadenhall Street.
Acting for Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou,
Newton Perkins advised Easy Group in it's £5.2m purchase of the income
producing freehold interest of Palmerston House, 80-86 Old Street, EC1.
Recruitment company, Joslin Rowe,
has leased 12,000 sq ft in Hermes building at 85 London Wall, EC2. Newton
Perkins advised and also in the compulsory purchase negotiations for their
former offices (with Crossrail).
The firm has secured new
instructions from private clients to manage fourteen properties, the majority of
which are in the West End of London.
At Beaufort House, St Botolph
Street, we have recently completed the re-gearing negotiations of Barlow Lyde
& Gilberts' leases comprising 100,000 sq ft.
We have advised French Bank CIC
on renewal of its leases in Finsbury Pavement, EC2, taking full advantage of the
decline in City renewal values in 2009. We are also instructed by Ion Trading on
the rent reviews for their 23,000 sq ft offices in Leman Street, E1.
Significant savings have been won by
Newton Perkins following rating appeals for clients, including Ince & Co,
Workspace Group and Windsor Life.
Newton Perkins has been instructed
by Land Securities to let approximately 60,000 sq ft at 47 Mark Lane,
EC3. In addition The Maersk Company have instructed us to lease 30,000 sq
ft at their European headquarter building in Braham Street.
